As stated by the agency, dealers are required to replace the problematic components at no cost to the customer; these components consist of either the master cylinder or the brake booster.
Moreover, the automaker has initiated a recall of 24,655 units of the 2025 model year Explorers due to a potential issue with their powertrain control module which might reset during driving. This malfunctioning component has the risk of impairing the vehicle’s parking systems or leading to an engine shutdown, according to the authorities. As with other faulty components, dealerships will address this software issue at no cost to the owners.
Owners will receive notification letters by May 26th.
