On Monday, Sir Paul, who is 83 years old, shared an image of the two individuals, attributed to his late wife, photographer Linda McCartney, and added: “Happy birthday to my beloved friend, Ringo (or perhaps I should call him Sir Richard).”

Each year on July 7, the drummer of the Beatles, known publicly as Ringo Starr, organizes a yearly “peace and love” event to celebrate his birthdate.

In an act of worldwide solidarity, the artist encourages individuals from every corner of the globe to stop at midday local time to express, reflect upon, or share “peace and love.”

On Monday, the Beatles Story Museum in Liverpool honored peace and unity through an art and craft activity.

The general public captured images next to a statue depicting a hand forming a peace gesture, which was made from an original mold of Sir Ringo’s right hand.
