A D.A. Missing from the Courtroom
Season 25 of Law & Order has been filled with intense investigations and dramatic courtroom confrontations, and many viewers may have noticed that a familiar face was missing from the courtroom during the latest episode.
In the episode titled “Ride or Die,” the story quickly dives into a homicide investigation that leads A.D.A. Samantha Maroun (Odelya Halevi) to reunite with a former mentor in the courtroom. While the case initially seemed straightforward, Maroun found herself challenged by her former mentor’s clever tactics on the stand.
Meanwhile, the courtroom drama was in full swing, but Maroun had to handle the proceedings solo as her longtime partner, A.D.A. Nolan Price (Hugh Dancy), was away from the Manhattan District Attorney’s office. Fans have been getting to know more about Price this season, including meeting his new girlfriend and learning about the upbringing that shaped his career in the Manhattan courts.

Where Was A.D.A. Nolan Price?
During the April 23 episode of Law & Order, Maroun was surprised to learn from D.A. Nicholas Baxter (Tony Goldwyn) that she would be leading the trial due to Nolan being out of commission for a few weeks. Maroun accepted the challenge, soon realizing that her defense attorney was none other than Abigail Donahue, played by Euphoria star Alanna Ubach.
Abigail was Maroun’s former mentor at the Bronx D.A. Office and even helped her land her job at the 27th Precinct. Baxter encouraged Maroun to use this knowledge to her advantage after Abigail presented a strong defense, which only fueled Maroun’s determination to see justice served.

A Routine Medical Procedure
Nolan Price is currently away from the office for a routine medical procedure. Despite being away, he hasn’t been idle, as he called Maroun to check in and make sure she was handling the case well. Maroun, while confident in her abilities, obliged his checklist anyway.
“Yes, Nolan, for the fifth time, I’ve double checked the affidavits, the addresses, and everything else in the damn file,” Maroun said, playfully rolling her eyes. “So you can relax, OK? Just focus on getting better. I mean, who needs an appendix anyway?”
Before hanging up, Maroun assured him, “I’ll do my best, I promise.”
A Busy Season for the 27th Precinct
Law & Order Season 25 has been one of the busiest yet for the 27th Precinct. New episodes air every Thursday at 8/7c on [platform], and the next day on Peacock. The season features a stellar cast including Maura Tierney, Tony Goldwyn, Hugh Dancy, Odelya Halevi, Reid Scott, David Ajala, and Connie Shi.
This season, Lt. Jessica Brady and Detective Vincent Riley have more support with the arrival of Detective Theo Walker. In the D.A.’s office, Nicholas Baxter, Nolan Price, and Samantha Maroun continue to take on complex cases with their usual determination.

A Standout Performance
Maroun rarely takes center stage in the courtroom, but when she does, she always makes an impression. Despite facing a formidable defense from her former mentor, who used her influence against her, Maroun managed to sway the jury and secure a conviction. The process wasn’t without tension, especially from the woman Maroun once respected most, but justice ultimately prevailed.
It’s safe to say that Nolan would have been proud of how Maroun handled the case. He will return to the NYC courtrooms as soon as he recovers from his procedure, and in the meantime, the 27th Precinct will continue its mission to ensure justice is served.
