The clue, under the category “Art For Art’s Sake,” asked, “The Glasshouse in Seattle is a one-of-a-kind structure holding a 100-foot sculpture by this artist.” Ding correctly identified the artist as “Chihuly,” taking the lead with $26,400.
The final round, Final Jeopardy, featured the category “The 1950s.” The clue was, “The announcement declaring this safe & effective was made April 12, 1955, the 10th anniversary of the death of a famous American.” Mixter initially wrote “nuclear power” but crossed it out and changed her answer to “Polio vax,” which was correct. She wagered $5,000, finishing with $10,400.
Nolan, on the other hand, incorrectly guessed “penicillin” and wagered $10,000, ending up with $18,000. Ding, however, correctly identified the answer and wagered $25,201, bringing his total to $56,001. This gave him a final total of $849,603 over 30 days.
Host Ken Jennings praised the game, saying, “What a game!” Fans echoed similar sentiments, with many calling it a “Game of the Year contender.” One Reddit user wrote, “That was an amazing game!” Another said, “Good competitive game today.
