Steve Coogan has revealed information about his co-starHelena Bonham Carter’s sudden White Lotusleave during the BAFTA TV Awards at London’s Royal Festival Hall on Sunday.
The comedian, 60, offered a glimpse into the unexpected exit before hisBAFTAAward for Actor in a Comedy for his role in How Are You? It’s Alan (Partridge).
Helena abruptly exited the fourth season of the HBO seriesafter three days of shooting due to conflicts regarding her role, which has since been reworkedLaura Dern, 59.
However, a source has indicated that the star’s exit might have been related to a ‘clash’ with one of her fellow actors.
Talking on the red carpet toDeadline, Steve said: “It simply took a different path. It’s like, occasionally you realize that something isn’t functioning as you hoped, regarding the character and the overall flow of the story.”
Before adding: “So that was simply a mutual agreement… The entire section was completely rewritten.”
Taking the stage to accept his BAFTA, Steve remarked in his speech: “If anyone is wondering when Alan Partridge is going to die, it’s likely around the same time as I am — I’ll keep doing it.”

It follows a White Lotus insider stating: ‘The reason Helena left was due to a conflict with Sandra Bernhard.’
Nevertheless, Helena’s team rejected the statement, maintaining that the two had never met, although they chose not to explain what occurred.
The hit HBOThe show features the misadventures of a collection of unique characters at a high-end vacation resort, with each season taking place in a different setting and introducing a fresh set of characters. The most recent season is primarily located at the Airelles Chateau de la Messardiere in Saint-Tropez in the South of…France.

Amandaland, featuring Lucy Punch, received the BAFTA for best scripted comedy.
Writer Holly Walsh mentioned that she enjoyed hearing people say they watched the series with their kids.
She stated: “We can all take pleasure in watching an affluent woman from Chiswick being struck in the face with a soccer ball.”
Nevertheless, Lucy was not awarded the Actress in a Comedy trophy, which was given to Katherine Parkinson for her role in BBC One’s Here We Go.
