Breakfast in bed for Mother’s Day appears impressive and sincere in films.
However, in actuality, it can be somewhat challenging to carry out, particularly if children are involved.
And if the toast is overdone, you can imagine she’ll be recalling the chicken and waffles or avocado toast from her favorite spot.
Perhaps retain the mom coupons, but arrange to take her out for Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 10, to a wonderful brunch location.
Here are five of my preferred breakfast spots in El Paso.

Mother’s Day will take place on Sunday, May 10. This year, the Mexican and American celebrations of Mother’s Day occur on the same day. In Mexico, Mother’s Day is consistently observed on May 10.
Ambar
Every mother who appreciates variety will love the wide selection of brunch items available at Ambar, located inside the Plaza Hotel at 106 W Mills Ave. in Downtown El Paso. Arrive in a relaxed manner or get dressed up. The venue features live music that isn’t too loud.
The breakfast buffet includes two tables equipped with warming trays offering a variety of classic morning dishes, such as eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes, along with French toast, green chile enchiladas, and slow-cooked beef.
The breakfast station offers a wonderful way to personalize your eggs and include your preferred toppings, which the server will gladly deliver to your table. They also serve menudo, have a salad and fruit selection, and, naturally, a delicious dessert area.
For dessert, I suggest the small tarts, particularly those with blueberry and raspberry toppings, as well as the moist chocolate sprinkle cupcakes. It goes well with a warm cup of coffee to conclude a delicious meal.
Brunch is served between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.Reservations are recommendedFor Mother’s Day, there will be a create-your-own-bouquet station. The cost is $65 per adult, ages 12 and older, not including tax and tip. Children aged 6 to 11 will pay $32.50. Children 5 and younger are free.
Amar
If you’re searching for a unique spot similar to mom, Amar, a Peruvian and Mexican eatery located at 3100 N. Mesa St., makes a great option. It offers a beautiful, soothing atmosphere perfect for memorable events. Mom can kick off her day with a brunch drink, such as an Aperol Spritz Sangria or a mimosa.
Then explore the brunch menu for a variety of innovative dishes, including Desayuno Andino, which features eggs paired with Peruvian homemade, smoky chorizo served over well-seasoned potatoes, queso fresco, and fresh corn tortillas. There are also Japanese Peruvian pancakes, several types of chilaquiles, and options featuring beef tenderloin.
For individuals monitoring their carbohydrate intake, opt for the protein waffles ($15), crafted using almond flour and served with fresh berries and monk fruit-based maple syrup.
If there’s still space for something sweet, the house-made avocado ice cream with a dark chocolate coating (designed to resemble a halved avocado) makes a great ending. The ice cream is smooth and has an earthy depth similar to green matcha, complemented by the sweetness of a Nutella-covered brownie bite.
A daily brunch is available from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Salt + Honey Bakery and Café
A beloved spot for mothers to gather and celebrate is Salt & Honey Bakery and Cafe, located at 1125 Texas Ave.
The eatery serves classic brunch options such as avocado toast with eggs, chicken and waffles, and French toast. However, it also features more unique items like Michelada-braised brisket tacos and pancakes topped with a rich baklava streusel and homemade spiced honey.
Within a group of friends, you can turn mealtime into an exciting culinary adventure by having each person order a unique dish and then exchange a taste.
Junction Brunch House
The Junction Brunch House, located at 3001 Pershing Drive, offers a relaxed atmosphere and $3 mimosas for mothers on Mother’s Day, which is on Sunday. If your family prefers to wear a cap and Crocs and head out, this place should work well for you.
Give a try to some classic Southern dishes such as crispy fried chicken and waffles with a chipotle butter, or biscuits topped with green chile and sausage gravy along with two scrambled eggs. Don’t forget to include some hot sauce.

The Grove Brunch Cafe
The Grove Brunch Cafe left a lasting impression on me ever since it opened in 2019 at 7470 Cimarron Market on the West Side. Since that time, it has grown to include two additional spots: 9800 Gateway Blvd. North, and 12040 Tierra Este Road on the East Side.
Featuring brunch in its name, The Grove offers a wide array of delicious choices. One of my top picks is the green chilaquiles, packed with layers of taste such as queso fresco, cilantro, two fried eggs, and a touch of sour cream.
They also offer a range of skillet-based breakfasts, invigorating mimosas, and artisanal cocktails.
With both indoor and outdoor patio seating available, you can savor your drink, whether it’s a cocktail or a latte, while your meal is prepared fresh for you.
