The Nashville Predators lost 3-0 to the Colorado Avalanche at Bridgestone Arena on Nov. 22.
Brent Burns scored 15 seconds into the game, a long-range shot that beat Juuse Saros. From there, Nashville out-shot Colorado and was the more aggressive team at even strength. The Predators’ pressure forced a number of athletic saves from goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood.
But despite owning the puck for much of the game, the Predators could not finish with goals. Blackwood made 35 saves, earning his third win of the season and his first shutout.

Nathan MacKinnon and Jack Drury added empty net goals to seal the win.
The Predators went 0-for-3 on the power play. This season, they have just 10 power play goals in 65 chances.
Nashville (6-11-4, 16 points) has now lost seven of its past eight games. Next up, it will host the Florida Panthers on Nov. 24. Colorado (15-1-5, 35 points) visits the Chicago Blackhawks on Nov. 23.

Can a team play their best game of the season and lose? The Predators seem to be doing that tonight. Nashville has a 27-16 shot edge and an incredible advantage in high danger chances at 11-to-6.
Luke Evangelista and Filip Forsberg have combined for nine shots on the top line. Roman Josi has three to lead the defense in his first game back.
Predators continue to pour on shots, but Avalanche hold 1-0 lead
It’s weird to think, but the Predators have been the better team in this one. They’ve owned puck possession and Colorado has generated very little outside of the game opening goal.
The problem for Nashville is a familiar one: finishing. Blackwood is keeping them off the board.

Colorado’s goal in the first 15 seconds suggested a long night for Nashville, but the Predators mostly dominated the period. They managed 15 shots on MacKenzie Blackwood and many of them were high quality chances.
But the Predators still trail 1-0, the only stat that matters.

Roman Josi back in the lineup for Nashville Predators
The Predators will get a significant boost as captain Roman Josi returns to the lineup. He’s been dealing with an upper body injury and missed the last 12 games.
Josi will pair with Nicolas Hague, the first time those two have been together this season. Nashville acquired Hague from Vegas over the summer with the intention of pairing him with Josi.
